A superb and important featherball made by David Gressick of Musselburgh, ca. 1840. This must be one of Gressick’s earliest products, as he placed his name on the ball by hand in ink. His later products bear a fine ‘D GRESSICK’ from a small iron stamp.
Of particular note is the near perfect roundness of this ball, as well as the near perfect condition of the paint.
This ball will make a critical addition to any important collection of early golf balls.
